Reduce Costs and Reduce Environmental Impacts With Sustainable Fertiliser Application
With fertiliser prices the way they are …
Farmers can save by having products applied by Tow and Fert
What Do Farmers Like About Our Service?
They like that they can maximise their fertiliser value, meaning fertiliser goes a lot further when it is dissolved and applied in a liquid form. Helping farmers keep ahead of local and national regulations, especially with the reduced nitrogen limits. There is also the minimisation of environmental risks, and helping farmers keep ahead of local and national regulations, especially with the reduced nitrogen limits.
Save time on farm, especially during the busy times.
Why Did We Choose Tow And Fert Machines?
The Tow & Fert is a robust New Zealand made machine that is capable of liquifying traditional fertilisers, mix them with water or effluent and spread them on pastures and crops in ultra-fine particles. It can hold this mix in suspension through agitation and circulation. The ultra fine particles are much easier to digest for microbes. This allows the bacteria to turn the applied nutrients into growth with minimal losses.
Who Do We Help?
Family-owned farms, corporate farms, and sharemilkers. Farms that are organic, regenerative and conventional. We service dairy farms, sheep and beef farms, horticultural and lifestyle blocks throughout most of Southland, and as far as Balclutha, South Otago.
How Much Can I Save With Tow and Fert Application?
The Tow & Fert can be used to apply urea and should see a 30 to 50% reduction in the use of urea without sacrificing growth. But it can be used for so much more. Most farmers are applying a bit of Urea following the cows after grazing and ones or twice a year they will apply Maintenance Fertiliser. This can result in major losses to the environment.
How To Feed The Soil To Grow Grass - Have You Got The 16 Essential Nutrients Covered?
Most farmers are applying a bit of Urea following the cows after grazing and ones or twice a year they will apply Maintenance Fertiliser. This can result in major losses to the environment. There are 16 known essential Nutrients for optimum pasture growth. They consist of major and minor nutrients. Optimum growth can only be obtained if all the requirements are met. Excessive Nutrient application can lead to losses to the environment and your bank account. We have developed a mix that has all of the essential nutrients a plant needs. The mix is designed to feed the soil what it needs to feed the pasture as it grows. It can be applied after every grazing to replace nutrients harvested. This will significantly reduce losses to the environment and is kinder on your bank account. We feed the soil a little more often to reduce losses with a consistant mix of nutrients for healthy and balanced soil.
VIDEO: This Southland farm is achieving 14 tonnes of feed grown in its second year of a 40% reduction of fertiliser.

“For decades farmers have been applying products to their land in granular/particle form. They are now becoming more aware that they can do things differently. Kinder on the land, environment and pocket, but still with great results”.
